Orchestral musician Iona Brown shares her most poignant career moment as part of the Musician Behind the Moment campaign.

“My #MUmoment is performing Schubert’s “Great C Major” Symphony [Symphony No. 9] with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, with Thomas Zehetmair conducting. The audience was bowled over and some even stood up – a rare reaction in the North East!

“Having worked on the piece over the years, and previously with Thomas, he found so many greater depths and details in the score.

“It felt like being part of an enormous tapestry, where every detail was relevant and beautiful, yet evenly balanced.”
