Events for Training and Support The MU, ABO and BLiM are running events for musicians to get involved with our work to drive change for more inclusive recruitment across the UK's orchestral and choral sector. Last updated: 01 September 2025 Taking place from October 2025 – May 2026, events include online drop-in sessions, support sessions, in-person training and more. Online drop-in sessions for musicians Join us for a webinar exploring the 10 Point Action Plan and how it could positively impact your workplace(s). We will be running two sessions for musicians to attend. Find out more and book your place via the links below: Drop-in session 1: Wednesday 22 October 2025, 9-10am Drop-in session 2: Thursday 23 October 2025, 1-2pm Online support sessions for musicians, managers and other interested parties Support sessions are running throughout the programme for everyone involved to share challenges, successes, thoughts, views and ideas as well as an opportunity to network with other participating musicians and organisations. We would like to encourage as many musicians as possible to attend these free sessions on Zoom to ensure that your views are represented. If while attending there is no requirement to speak, you can attend just to observe. We aim to create a safe space for all to share and speak and hope as many of you as possible can attend to ensure you are being represented. Support session 1: Monday 3 November 2025, 9-10:30am Support session 2: Monday 23 February 2026, 10-11:30am Support session 3: Monday 11 May 2026, 11am-12:30pm 3-day in-person training programme Interested in championing inclusive recruitment in your workplace? This free 3-day training workshop will give you the skills to take your learning back to your workplace and share it with your colleagues. Dates: 26-28 January Location: London (in-person) You will learn: How to introduce EDI to colleagues and explain how it is relevant in the workplace How to teach colleagues about unconscious Bias How to manage difficult conversations in your workplace on inclusive recruitment This training is part of a wider volunteer role as an Inclusive Recruitment Champion. Association of British Orchestras (ABO) Annual Conference Each year the MU sponsors musicians to attend the ABO Annual Conference. This is a paid-for event, taking place from 4-6 February 2026 at the Southbank Centre in London.
