These fees are in addition to the musicians’ live performance fee which should be in line with MU rates, including any overtime, doubling or porterage, to be agreed separately. A concession can be applied to the rates for performances in a venue with a capacity of 300 or less, that will be streamed Free to View. 70% of the “Free to View” rate is payable in those instances. The concession cannot be applied where the performance is available on a Subscription or Paid Stream basis. The rates grant the streaming of live performances/concerts of up to 2 hours in length. Options are provided below for; unlimited streaming over a 24 hour period, 30 days, 3 months and 6 months unlimited streaming. Rates will differ depending on the number of musicians, and whether the streams are Free to View, of available via a Subscription/Paid platform. Availability of the stream must be continuous over the time period granted and cannot be divided. For example, 30 days unlimited streaming is 30 continuous days of unlimited streaming, meaning you could not make the stream available for 15 days one month and 15 days in another month. The recorded performance can be made available on more than one streaming platform over the time period granted. Where streaming is required for longer than 6 months, payment of the relevant PACT/MU Rates would be required. The attached consent form must be completed and returned to the Musicians’ Union (session.agreements@themu.org) for each Musician.
