Scotland Demands Better: Join the Anti-Poverty March in Edinburgh

Join over 5,000 people in Edinburgh for the Scotland Demands Better march and rally against poverty on Saturday 25 October 2025.

On Saturday 25 October 2025, individuals and communities from across Scotland will be gathering for the Scotland Demands Better march and rally. 

Launched by The Poverty Alliance, Scotland Demands Better is a coalition campaign to show politicians that we need more action to tackle the injustice of poverty and build a society where every household can thrive and prosper.

With approximately 5,000 people expected to take part, the march and rally will include musical acts, speeches, food vendors and free activities for children.

Details and timings

The march will set off from outside the Scottish Parliament, march through the centre of Edinburgh and end at the Meadows where the rally will take place.

  • 10am - 11am: Assembly on Horse Wynd, outside the Scottish Parliament
  • 11am - 12:30pm: March from the Scottish Parliament to the Meadows
  • 12:30pm - 1pm: Marchers arrive at the Meadows
  • 1pm - 4:30pm: Rally at the Meadows

For those with restricted mobility, there is a reduced route available with no steep inclines and no cobbles underfoot. Assembly for the reduced route will start at 11:30am at the end of Champers Street.
