The Union is aware of partial information circulating online about the BBC Concert Orchestra making a recording for Northern Ballet.
The Union has investigated and was in touch with the BBC at the time of contracting. We understand that the recording relates entirely to a digital project and will not be used as a backing track to replace musicians in a dance production.
Northern Ballet are currently operating on non-union terms
It remains the Union's position that the members of the Northern Ballet Sinfonia should be first call for work with Northern Ballet, and we remain committed to reaching an agreement with the company. At present, they are operating on non-union terms.
