Sensoria Pro is an informal industry day and networking event that brings together composers, filmmakers, music publishers, music supervisors, game developers and festival organisers to explore innovation across music and the moving image.

The event forms part of the 19th annual Sensoria Festival, which takes place across Sheffield from 22-25 October, with this year’s theme, Plantasia, honouring the 50th anniversary of Mort Garson's cult 1976 electronic album Mother Earth’s Plantasia.

MU roundtable

The MU roundtable, which takes place on Friday 23 October, will feature acclaimed musician, songwriter and producer Katie Harkin, whose career has spanned touring, recording, songwriting and production, with credits including Harkin, Sky Larkin, Courtney Barnett, Sleater-Kinney and Wild Beasts.

Drawing on her experience of building a successful portfolio career, Katie will share practical insights into creating a sustainable future in music. The discussion will explore the realities of working in today's industry, from live performance and recording to songwriting, rights and royalties, contracts and industry deals.

It will also explore how musicians can identify new opportunities beyond traditional career paths, including work in podcasting and other creative sectors, while making the most of the skills and expertise they have developed through their musical careers.

Colleagues from the MU North of England team and Writers' Sector will also be around on the day, so do come and say hello!

MU members can receive a 25% discount on delegate passes when selecting the ‘Affiliate’ ticket type, when booking via Eventbrite.
