The MU is delighted to once again be marching at Durham Miners’ Gala this year on Saturday 11 July, alongside Equity and other trade unions.
Organised by The Durham Miners' Association (DMA), the event has been running since 1871 and regularly draws over 200,000 people to the streets of Durham each summer, with historic banners and brass bands creating a vibrant carnival atmosphere.
All MU members are invited to join Union Officials on the march, meet fellow members, and enjoy a fantastic day out.
MU North of England Regional Organiser, Paul Reed, says “We proudly marched with a banner at the Durham Miners’ Gala for the first time last year and are pleased to be supporting the event again.
"We invite all MU members from the region to join us for what promises to be an inspiring and uplifting day and an important fixture in the trade union movement calendar.”
