The Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA) International Symposium is coming to the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester from 15–18 July 2027.
The event will bring together performers, educators, clinicians and researchers from around the world to explore how research, healthcare and performance can work together to support artists’ health and wellbeing.
Under the theme Bridging the Gap: Connecting Research, Clinical Practice and Performance, organisers are inviting musicians, teachers, researchers and health professionals to submit abstracts for presentations, workshops, panel discussions and educational sessions. This could include sharing professional experience, practical approaches, research or ideas that could help improve the health and wellbeing of performing artists.
An abstract is simply a short summary of your proposed contribution, explaining what you'd like to share and why it's relevant. You don't need to be a researcher or a PAMA member to submit, and contributions are welcome from people at all career stages.
The symposium is co-chaired by Manchester-based vocal educator Line Hilton and Dr Kat Cottrell, and will be the first PAMA symposium hosted within a conservatoire.
The submission deadline is 15 November 2026.
