The MU is delighted to again be marching at Durham Miners’ Gala this year on Saturday 12 July, alongside Equity and other trade unions.

The Durham Miners' Association (DMA) have been running the event since 1871, with over 200,000 people packing the streets of the City of Durham in North-East England each summer.

All MU members are invited to join Officials on the march, meet like-minded people, and get to know other members of your Union, having a brilliant day out in the process.

MU North of England Regional Organiser, Paul Reed, says “I’m delighted that the MU will again march alongside our fellow unions including Equity at the Durham Miners’ Gala this year.

“We’re producing a new MU banner for the event and invite all MU members to join us for a fun and inspiring day out at a time when celebrating community and trade union values is more important than ever”.

To find out more about the event, visit the Durham Miners Association page.

If you’d like to join the MU on the march, please contact us at noe@themu.org for more details.
