Join the Scotland & Northern Ireland regional team and members to hear about the work of the Union, discuss issues affecting musicians across our nations, and help shape our priorities for the future.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be an engaging and informative event followed by refreshments and networking.
Schedule
2pm - 5pm: Annual General Meeting (AGM)
This is an opportunity to hear about the work of the MU in Scotland & Northern Ireland, meet the regional team. The MU’s AGMs are an important space for members from across each Region or Nation to come together, share thoughts and ideas and experiences, and talk about issues affecting them locally.
If there is a particular issue you think the MU should be acting on you could also raise it for discussion, or you could propose a motion (a call for action which will be passed to the Executive Committee to consider if agreed by the meeting).

We will also be joined by two guest speakers during the AGM.
Cleo Goodman
Cleo Goodman is a political strategist, facilitator and researcher based in Edinburgh.
She will be sharing insights on Basic Income for Artists Scotland, a grassroots campaign she co-founded that makes the case for a guaranteed minimum income for artists and cultural workers.
The campaign has gathered over 1,000 signatories for an open letter welcoming the SNP's commitment to pilot a basic income for artists, spoken to hundreds of artists across Scotland and is acting as a convening space for arts organisations and artists to shape the development of the pilot.
Nupur Paliwal
Nupur Paliwal is President of the Students; Federation of India – United Kingdom (SFI-UK), and will provide an international perspective on organising and advocacy for workers and students.
SFI-UK is a progressive organisation that works on social, economic and political issues faced by migrant students and youth in the country. It is the first overseas unit of the Students’ Federation of India, which has a legacy of historic struggle combining political agitation and cultural activism.
5pm - 6pm: Networking
Networking, drinks and nibbles for in-person attendees.
