About the event

In this user-friendly webinar, we will provide a beginner's guide to copyright and explain how music rights make money, including streaming, physical discs, live performance, sync and production music, and neighbouring rights.

We'll also run through everything you need to discuss and agree when you create music with other music-makers, and outline the key categories of data that make sure you get credited and paid whenever your music is streamed, synced, performed or played.

Topics covered include:

  • The different music rights and copyright controls
  • How music rights make money
  • Copyright ownership, splits and data
  • Collective licensing
  • Sync, original commissions and production music
  • Neighbouring rights.
