As a special measure during Covid-19 outbreak and restrictions on live ensemble performances, we are making available a number of fees to ensure streaming can go ahead with relative ease, and to ensure musicians are rightly remunerated.

As a special measure, we are making available a number of fees to ensure streaming can go ahead with relative ease, and to ensure musicians are rightly remunerated. Without prior notice on the MU website, these rates will cease 30 September 2021. In addition for fees for rights, the fees are in addition to any new recordings being made for purposes of streaming, whether in studio or from home recording base.

These fees are in addition to the musicians’ live performance fee which should be in line with MU rates, and are only available for live ensemble performances of up to 2 hours. The rates only apply to in-house productions and where audiences are limited due to the current restrictions. Where streaming is managed by an outside promoter or a full live audience is allowed, payment of the necessary PACT/MU Rates would be required. These rates will cease on 30 September 2021.
