About Simon Heath
I am a UK-based composer for film and television and a multi-instrumentalist. I believe music does more than underscore a story - it awakens feeling. And feeling is what moves people to act.
My screen work includes contributing to the score for the Oscar-nominated feature film The Illusionist, composing for the Shrink Rap series on Channel 4, and creating music for organisations including the Scottish Human Rights Commission. Across these projects, I have sought to craft scores that breathe with the narrative - music that feels organic, human, and emotionally truthful.
Alongside my work as a composer, I am a duduk player. The duduk’s ancient, voice-like tone carries a profound sense of memory and longing - qualities that resonate deeply within environmental and human stories. Rooted in the meditation and wellbeing community, my playing explores stillness, space, and emotional depth. These elements flow naturally into my playing, shaping sound worlds that feel intimate yet expansive - grounded in breath, yet cinematic in scale.
