About Ruth Ayres 'The Caledonian Flautist'

Based near Turrif, I offer solo flute performance & piano accompaniment for concerts and wedding ceremonies locally (Aberdeenshire & Moray only). As a former orchestral flautist, my primary focus is the flute. For weddings I cover the ceremony only - prelude, processional, signing of the register and the recessional. I also play with other musicians such as harp, guitar, piano or strings. I only accept two bookings per year as I am semi retired.

I can also provide musical support for guest singers, solo instrumentalists or play hymns during a service, examination, audition or concert.

I do not use backing tracks or provide reception music on flute.

I also teach music online globally to a limited number of students (adults only) on flute, violin & piano and can teach from beginners to advanced (post grade 8) on all three instruments. Most of my students are based in Asia but I also teach some adults based in the UK.
