About Rosie Bristow
Hi, I'm Rosie. I'm a bassist, rhythm guitarist and producer, studying BA Music: Popular at Leeds Conservatoire. I specialise in rock, metal and alternative music, but have experience playing in a wide range of genres, from funk and soul to musical theatre.
I am an experienced performer, whose ambition is to become a go-to bassist for band work, session work, and any other collaborations. This will be achieved through developing my skills, versatility and reputation as a professional and reliable musician. Since beginning my studies in Leeds, I have become involved in a number of bands, mostly rock and metal. In addition to this, I have done session work on bass for solo artists and songwriters working in various genres.
I have played electric bass in a number of amateur musicals, leading me to develop my skills in sight reading and working in a pit orchestra setting. I have played in a diverse range of shows such as 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Chicago', 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' and 'We Will Rock You'. This is a career path I am very interested in exploring further.
Whilst my primary focus is performance on bass, I am an experienced mix engineer and enjoy using DAW technology as a creative tool for mixing and composition. I am especially interested in creative effects (e.g. reverb, delay, sampling) and take heavy inspiration from modern psychedelic music in both my production and composition.
