About Roksana Grobelna

Born in Poland, Roksana Grobelna moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her passion for music and studied violin at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with Honours in 2021.

During her studies at the Conservatoire, Roksana performed extensively with the university's orchestras and ensembles. She was appointed Leader of the Second Violin section, gaining valuable experience in orchestral leadership, ensemble playing and working closely with conductors and fellow musicians. During this time, she had the opportunity to perform under the direction of internationally acclaimed conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Michael Seal.

Following her graduation, Roksana established herself as a versatile freelance violinist, working across orchestral, chamber, solo and commercial performance. She founded her own string quartet in London, which has gone on to perform internationally at a wide range of events and venues around the world.

Roksana is a highly accomplished acoustic classical violinist, with a strong foundation in classical technique, ensemble playing and musical interpretation. She is also an experienced sight-reader, allowing her to adapt quickly to new repertoire, rehearsals and live performance situations. Alongside her acoustic violin, she performs on electric violin, bringing a contemporary sound and visual element to her performances.

Her versatility extends beyond traditional classical performance. Roksana is comfortable working across different musical styles and has the ability to improvise and adapt musically in real time, making her particularly suited to crossover, commercial, live entertainment and bespoke performance projects. Her combination of classical training, strong sight-reading skills, electric violin experience and improvisational ability allows her to move seamlessly between very different musical environments.

As a freelance performer, Roksana has appeared at some of the UK's most prominent concert halls and arenas, including the Royal Albert Hall, Sheffield Arena, Leeds Arena and OVO Hydro in Glasgow. She has also performed as a soloist opening major live shows, bringing her classical violin background to large-scale commercial productions and live entertainment.

Her diverse career has included collaborations with internationally recognised artists including Professor Green and Andrea Bocelli, allowing her to work across classical, crossover, pop and commercial music.

Roksana's performance career is defined by versatility, musicianship and adaptability. Equally at home performing classical repertoire on acoustic violin, leading a chamber ensemble, sight-reading new material, improvising on electric violin or performing to thousands of people in an arena, she continues to build an international career across a broad spectrum of musical styles and settings.
