About Rebecca Reid
Rebecca Reid is a full lyric soprano with repertoire spanning Mozart, Handel, and verismo.
She has performed with York Opera, appearing as a chorus member in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and the opera scenes Tales of Kings and Queens, and has understudied the role of Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore. Her concert and choral work includes performances of Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, and Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem with ensembles including Newark Choral Society, Fermanagh Choral Society, and the University of Leeds.
Rebecca has also appeared in concerts and recitals at venues including York Unitarian Church, the Mayor of Newark Ceremony, and with the Newark & Sherwood Concert Band.
She is currently studying voice with Michelle Wegwart (Opéra Bastille, Bolshoi Theatre, Zurich Opera, and Salzburg Festival) and holds a Graduate Diploma in Music from the University of Leeds (2017) and a Master’s degree in Music Education (Instrumental and Vocal Teaching) from the University of York (2019).
