About Kathryn Leanne

Kathryn’s love for singing started early, spending her childhood finding any excuse to take the mic. Growing up in the Wirral and Merseyside, she was raised on a steady diet of 70s and 80s soul and disco, and unashamedly always loved pop, even during a temporary teenage detour into the local pop-punk and indie scene.

After relocating to West Yorkshire and shifting focus toward her teaching career, she spent years "hiding in choirs"; finding comfort, community, and joy singing harmony alongside others in local community choirs across the region.

Stepping out from behind the group to launch her solo venture, Kathryn has loved going back to her musical roots and rediscovering the songs that defined her earlier years. Her setlists blend these diverse musical tastes together, pairing the floor-filling, soulful vibes of 70s and 80s classics with the nostalgia of 90s and 00s pop, alongside modern hits that capture that exact same energy. By tailoring this blend, she creates versatile sets designed to suit a wide range of venues, audiences, and event atmospheres.

Regaining her confidence on the local open mic circuit, she has thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with other musicians and building genuine connections across the local music scene. Kathryn is keen to continue developing these creative relationships, with an eye toward future songwriting and recording projects alongside her live performances.

A self-confessed romantic who simply loves love, Kathryn particularly thrives when performing at weddings and private celebrations. She considers it a real privilege to soundtrack someone's special day, bringing a rich vocal tone, warm energy, and personal care to every event - whether providing chilled acoustic vibes for a drinks reception or building the energy for a evening crowd.
