About Kate Shortt
Kate Shortt is a freelance classically trained cellist/singer songwriter/pianist working in the jazz/classical theatre and free improvisation world. She has toured with varying bands over the years and has recorded for many artists including Take That, Tears For Fears, Gary Kemp of Spandeau Ballet plus more. She was a member of the Northern Lights Symphony Orchestra between 2007 and 2015. As a workshop leader she has worked for the LSO Education Department and has delivered primary class music insets for teachers in England and Europe focusing on vocal work and classroom composition.
In the cabaret world Kate performs her own one woman comedy show 'Shortt and Sweett' with cello/piano

Kate is also part of the cello/vocal duo 'Cellicious' alongside the brilliant jazz cellist Rupert Gillett, performing Jazz and originals. Her album 'Something To Tell You' has been described as '...emotionally rich thoughtful harmonies and heartfelt reflections on life' - MU magazine
Kate plays on the free improvisation scene in and around London.
