About Joanna Borrett

I'm a cellist and I taught myself to improvise and compose recently. Since then I've had several books of string music published and two of my duets were chosen for the ABRSM 2024 cello syllabus.
My first string orchestra work - Clan - was recorded by Her Ensemble and the recording was chosen as Album of the Weekend by Scala Radio, Video of the Day by Gramophone and played on Jools Holland's Radio 3 programe Earlier.
My music is a mix of classical and folk and I would love to help bring folk players' relaxed connection with their instruments to the classical world.
