About Joanna Borrett

I'm a composer and cellist. I'm a house composer at Kevin Mayhew and several of my pieces are on the Trinity and ABRSM string exam syllabuses .
My first string orchestra work - Clan - was recorded by Her Ensemble and the recording was chosen as Album of the Weekend by Scala Radio, Video of the Day by Gramophone and has been played on Radio 3's programmes Earlier and Classical Unwind. Clan has also been played at the royal investitures at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.
My beginner cello book - Wild Cello - has just been published and the recording of my new song cycle - Moments of Freedom - is being released on September 29th. In October Her Ensemble will be recording more of my string orchestra music.
