About Jessica Rance
I have played oboe, cor anglais & bassoon with various ensembles for 30 years or so. During which time I've had some wonderful opportunities to work with some amazing musicians. I am also a fully qualified double reed (and general woodwind) instrument technician - having qualified in 1989 from Newark Technical College. Again, I have worked for some superb players, many of whom are today's top professional players both in the UK and from abroad. I count myself as truly fortunate to have had these experiences.
I also teach oboe and bassoon (privately these days) to both young people & adult students wishing to extend their technique. I am an unconventional teacher but all my grade 8 students have achieved a distinction. Some of these students have also gone on to study at music college.
