About Elin Grace

Elin Grace is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter based in Manchester who crafts quirky, soulful indie-folk tracks influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling, as well as her love for jazz and classical music. Characterised by her raw and honest storytelling, much of Elin’s lyrics tell the story of her upbringing in the depths of the Welsh countryside; a country girl in the big city, addressing themes of girlhood, mental health and growing up. These narratives are conveyed elegantly through deft vocal harmonies, complex piano accompaniments in which her classical training shines, and bass guitar, drums and backing vocals provided by her talented band, made up of fellow Royal Northern College of Music students.
Mentored by the prestigious ‘Forté Project’, Elin has been tipped by BBC Radio 6 as ‘one to watch’. Her debut five-song EP, ‘Bee Without Wings’, was released in 2022 on all major streaming platforms, and she is currently working towards her second release. One of the songs to be featured on her upcoming EP, the bittersweet ballad ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ is available as a live performance video on Elin’s YouTube, alongside a few others. Introducing ‘Breathe’, which had Elin described as ‘prodigiously gifted’ by BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton, saying ‘I love her musical vision… her sense of fun’. All of Elin’s music to date has been mixed by Tchad Blake, the innovative mixer responsible for the Arctic Monkey’s ‘AM’, as well as having worked with a plethora of inspirations for her, including Fiona Apple, Celeste, and the Pretenders.
Elin’s gigging journey began in the Cardiff live music scene and has played venues far and wide, moving between Cardiff, London, Manchester, and venues close to her heart in mid-Wales. These include 93 Feet East on Brick Lane, Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff and Manchester’s Band on The Wall. In summer 2023 she secured her first major festival slot at Greenman, followed by Truck Festival on the Market Stage in 2024. Debuting her new songs live, Elin is looking forward to sharing some of her recent work with the world on her second EP.
