About Chris Turner
Music, Composition & Performance Graduate & Alumni of Salford University (Formerly Salford College).
Chris performs in cabaret & theatre as a multi-instrumentalist variety entertainer,with musical arrangements for up to 7 to 10-piece band.
He also performs as ‘Piano-Man’ in the piano bar environment, with a vast repertoire from all decades, and ‘Sax-Man’, performing favourite saxophone standards & requests on all saxophones, including an impressive Jazz/Pop Festive Xmas repertoire of favourite Xmas hits!
Chris’s Songwriter/Composer credits include the Official Song of Welcome for the Commonwealth Games, Manchester, 2002 – ‘DO IT... The Mancunian Way’. His award winning musical theatre adaptation of Dale Wasserman’s stage-play - ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ (from the novel by Ken Kesey), won fourth placement (from 600+ entries worldwide) at the ‘KSF Awards’ 2016!
A full Equity/Spotlight member, TV & Film credits include the character role of 'Johnson' in the BBC series 'El Dorado', and BAFTA Wales 2014 nomination for his role as drummer ‘Griff’ in Hollywood & Disney Film Director - Sara Sugarman’s punk rock movie 'Vinyl'.
