About Chester Tribley

Chester Tribley is a British composer, orchestrator, and arranger currently based in London and the east of England. He is a graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama gaining a BMus in film composition. Since 2024 Chester has been an assistant to multi-award winning composer Patrick Doyle.

He has been involved in a variety of high-profile projects, notably assisting Robert Ames, working on the orchestration for Darren Aronofsky’s groundbreaking film ‘Postcard from Earth’, and Dev Patel’s directorial debut, ‘Monkey Man’. Chester also scored the feature-length thriller
‘UK Ugly Man’ now available on Amazon Prime and worked with award winning composer Joseph Metcalfe as assistant composer on the Paramount feature thriller ‘Depravity’.

Chester has created arrangements for several BBC Proms concerts, including performances with artists Self Esteem, Jordan Rakei and JADE. His orchestration work can also be heard in his arrangement of the multi-award-winning soundtrack for ‘Poor Things’ by Jerskin Fendrix, featured in the 2024 BBC Proms’ ‘21st Century Soundtracks’.

He orchestrated music for 2024 Ivor Novello Award winners Speakers Corner Quartet’s new album, which was performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London, and also worked on the arrangement for the multi-award-winning video game PUBG in a Tribute Concert with the City String Ensemble.

His concert works include performances at The National Gallery and The Courtauld Gallery and his film score’s have been showcased in a variety of locations including Abbey Road’s Angel Studios, Milton Court Concert Hall, Chelmsford Cathedral, and Barbican Hall. His contributions to public art projects include providing music for the Illuminated River installations along the Thames and composing scores for silent films screened at the Barbican Cinema.
Chester has also worked with institutions such as the London Film Academy, Met Film School, and the Maryland Institute College of Art, writing scores for film shorts and animation.

Beyond composing, Chester enjoys conducting and collaborating with orchestras. He recently appeared at the Barbican Concert Hall to conduct ‘OrchestRAVE’, a sold-out performance in collaboration with the electronic music label UKF, blending classical orchestration with electronic Drum & Bass hits.

Chester is a committed environmentalist and in 2022 he was commissioned by The Essex Climate Commission to write an anthem for climate action in Essex, emphasising the urgency of preserving a stable and habitable environment. His work on ‘Living Book’, an immersive experience exploring the long-term consequences of climate change, further reflects his dedication to raising awareness through music.
