About Brian Madigan
I started out as a drummer for post-punk and indie bands, back in the 80s. At that point, I was already interested in composing and songwriting. So, I took a music degree at Middlesex Poly, which introduced me to working with dance, film and music improvisation. Since then, I have played in numerous bands and ensembles, on drums, percussion and flute. I perform and record solo as 'a Band named Brian'. Chiefly, I still work as a composer, providing music to libraries, as well as for film, theatre and advertising. In addition, I run 'Dance Notes', providing resources for schools' dance.
