The MU has launched a new resource hub to help local councillors and Constituency Labour Party members support musicians and local music industries.

Resources include briefings and toolkits on issues ranging from artificial intelligence to policy actions for local plans and strategies. It also includes template motions on local and devolved issues such as busking in your town/city, and arts funding in Wales.

Alongside resources, you can find local news and contacts for the Union’s six regional offices across the UK as well as updates on the MU's wider government relations and campaigning activities.

Making our solidarity heard

This project is part of the Union’s broader organising and campaigning work, which includes the launch of the Organising Training Programme this year.

MU Campaigns and Social Media Manager Maddy Radcliff said: “Community organising and activism is the foundation of meaningful change. We’re delighted to pull together and share resources from the Musicians’ Union and trusted partners to help councillors and local party members – including many musicians – advocate for music and the arts where they are.”

If you would like to see a template motion on a specific issue – or if there’s a resource that would like to share with us – please contact campaigns@theMU.org.
