About the event

This is an opportunity to engage with your MU Regional Officials, Ruth and Calliope, at a venue near you. The day will include access to workshops, portable appliance testing (PAT), meeting other members and a one-to-one opportunity with an official for questions and advice, all free as a benefit of your MU membership.

Workshops

  • Good practice and protecting yourself

10:15 am - 11:00 am

Learn more about the practicalities of keeping yourself and your students safe during your teaching work as well as looking at good practice, the steps you can take and the MU resources that are available.

Whether you work in schools, privately at home, talent development organisations, community settings, university or higher education, it’s important to consider the way you work to ensure you’re protecting yourself.

  • Working as a self-employed teacher

11:15 am -12:00 pm

A session that explores what it means to work as a self-employed teacher. Whether you are currently self-employed, or looking to start work as a self-employed teacher, this session will help you to consider the practicalities.

Member Meet up

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

An informal opportunity to meet with other MU members in your area, start up those conversations and build your networks.

To book your place on the workshops and member meet up, please email wswe@themu.org. Please ensure that you state all the sessions you would like to attend when you contact us.
