Networking with Confidence

About the event

‘Networking with Confidence’ is a practical skill building workshop led by theatre maker Ross Mackay and psychologist and hypnotherapist Alan Freeburn. It is a free session open to MU members based in Scotland. 
 
Networking can often invoke feelings of anxiety and imposter syndrome.

However, it is often an essential way that freelancers find work and make connections within the creative sector. In this workshop we will explore practical ways to reduce anxiety around networking events. 
 
During the workshop we will: 

• Explore how anxiety can manifest itself and examine ways we might begin to bring those sensations under control
• Explore ways we can build confidence going into, during and after networking events
• Create a shared resource of tips and tricks to reduce anxiety while networking
• Explore suggestions we might have to create less anxiety inducing networking formats. 

The event will be a relaxed roundtable event and we will gently encourage discussion, but you are welcome to participate and engage to whatever level you feel comfortable with.
