About the event
The panel's chair will speak to PRS for Music and an experienced media composer about what challenges a composer might encounter in trying to get commissioned for an audiovisual production, be it a film, a TV series, an ad, a game, or a podcast.
Learn new ways to navigate the sector, including tips and tricks on how to negotiate to get better contracts, what buyouts and the associated dangers are, and what rights you have by law in order to be able to make money.
The Ivors Academy and the MU will also speak about their Composers Against Buyouts campaign, what it stands for and what change it is looking to achieve.
What level is it?
Beginner – Intermediate.  This panel is designed for those that have started working in the audiovisual sector, or are looking to enter the market, but are not very familiar with best ways to protect their works and income.

This panel is free of charge and open to media composers and those interested in media composing work in the future.
