About the event

Covid-19 has presented unprecedented challenges for higher education institutions and those who teach in them, including musicians. However, musicians teaching in higher education benefited from the support of their union before the pandemic and continue to do so.

We invite all London members teaching music in higher education to come along to this online event and find out how we can support you.

The session will cover:

  • Sector-wide issues, such as the cuts to government funding for higher education arts and music
  • MU member benefits relevant to those who teach in higher education, including public and products liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance, employment related legal advice and assistance, and the employment contract advisory service
  • UCU member benefits relevant to those who teach in higher education
  • The MU/UCU joint membership scheme
  • The MU student membership scheme
  • MU student talks.

How to attend

This online event is free to attend for London members of the MU and UCU teaching music in higher education. Please book early as places are limited.
