Many music teachers work under Music Hubs, and in recognition of this the MU has Hub Reps who keep the union informed about what is happening at a local level. We also produce a yearly report with recommendations to the government.

Increasingly, we are also seeing members working in music teacher cooperatives, which have been formed by musicians to combat poor treatment of music teachers by local authorities or hubs. The MU is partnered with Co-operatives UK and we also provide guidance on how to set up a cooperative.
