About Sophie Jesson

Sophie studied the violin with Carol Ballenger and Harry Cawood before attending Trinity College of Music where she gained her BMus degree with Andrew Sherwood in 2000. She is a freelance violinist and performs regularly in the South with various ensembles, orchestras, quartets and in music theatre. In 2004, she went on to complete an MA specifically in Instrumental Teaching at Reading University. She has over twenty years teaching experience, teaching in private and state schools and running her own private teaching practice. She has taught all ages and levels, from beginner to post grade 8. Past pupils have gained places to study music at Trinity College of Music, Cambridge University and Kingston University. She has recently moved to Brixham in Devon.
