Performer of Jazz and vocal music including own compositions. Performed around the UK and abroad with various Jazz groups. Also wedding pianist and singer with various function bands.
Music Teacher and facilitator. Teaching Jazz and popular music vocals, technique, improvisation, songwriting and all round musicianship. Also grade 8 piano and music theory. Teaching approaches- technique work to increase confidence and raise awareness of 'our instrument'. Creating a fun environment to work on developing our 'sound' whether popular music, presenting, lecturing, or even 'Dada'. Also group lessons with BSc Occupation Therapy students using voice as a tool for recovery.
Choir leader, running local choirs in 3 or 4 parts for all levels and experience. Current choir is Accôrdia Choir Cardiff including performances at Swansea Jazz festival, Acapela Studios, National Trust events and various charities.
Community music- Working with adults with additional needs both in groups of 10 and 1-1 setting. Performance based work, where individuals take turns to sing, also integrating singing with movement, using props allowing individuals to express themselves in a safe environment where they can be celebrated by their peers. Also, singing in nursing homes and a 'Dementia friend'.
