About Sally Proudman
Sally Proudman is a Classical musician from the town of Stone in the West Midlands. Sally began learning to play the piano at the age of 9 and with sporadic tuition over the following 10 years, she was largely self-taught.
At the advice of her college music teacher, Sally entered the Stoke-on-Trent Young Musician of the Year and Newcastle-Under-Lyme Performing Arts Festival awards in 2018. She won her categories in both competitions.
Sally moved to Scotland in 2019, and graduated the University of Edinburgh in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music, having received tuition during her time there with Ingrid Sawers. She was very proud to have included only works by female composers in her final recital at university, and continues to work on expanding her repertoire to include more minority composers.
Sally has performed in many concerts both as a soloist and accompanist to a variety of performers and ensembles. She has also provided accompaniment for students in ABRSM exams, and from 2023-2025 worked as Assistant Musical Director and Répétiteur for Edinburgh Studio Opera, for their productions of Handel’s Semele and Massenet’s Cendrillon.
Having recently relocated, Sally is now also offering at-home piano and theory lessons for students in Cockenzie and Port Seton.
