About Rossendale Guitar

my name is Kevin Wallace, I am a guitar teacher based in Lancashire, England.



I have been playing guitar for about 30 years now. When I started I was quite a quiet and shy boy with little self confidence. within a few years and with the support of a great teacher, I grew in confidence. I always feel most comfortable with a guitar round my neck.



I learned classical guitar at Opus Music School in Manchester. There I trained in classical techniques and worked up through the ABRSM grades. My teacher helped me to develop a good solid foundation in techniques, playing posture and theory.



I also learned to play electric guitar and formed a band at school, I particularly enjoyed playing music by Pink Floyd & Queen. This really boosted my confidence to the point of organising, hosting and performing in a set of concerts in front of a few hundred people raising money for charity.

After school I trained as a sound engineer at SSR Manchester then moved to Oxford to work in a recording studio. Since moving back to the northwest I worked in music shops where I began to teach guitar privately. Over the years I have played electric guitar both in the studio and with live bands.
