About Gregor Wilson

I'm a 23-year-old Bass player based in Edinburgh, Scotland. 5 years ago, I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of West London and achieved a first-class grade at the age of 19. This achievement has led me to believe that I can become a musician with my determination, grades, and unwavering devotion to music and the industry.

After some time playing in the local Function band "Acrylic Milk," I left the country to travel to New Zealand in January 2023. I returned to Scotland in June 2023, where I was met with an opportunity to play with Edinburgh-based jazz vocalist "Becca Sloan". Through this opportunity, I was able to meet many other musicians around the jazz and funk scene. After acquiring a residency at The Jazz Bar with Becca, I was approached by "The Phat Cats," a wedding and events Function group that operates out of London and plays at many events and weddings around the country, to join their team as one of the bass players who would be on call for Scotland. Both of which I still play for to this day

After playing with these bands, I responded to an Instagram listing for a wanted bass player for the local funk and soul band "Groove Down" (Currently "The World before"). After an audition and some time, they thankfully invited me into the band as their permanent bass player. I spent just under a year with Groove Down, but left to pursue other projects and more session work.

When playing in these bands for the last half of 2023, I strived to create something of my own. So in October of 2023, I put together a band of rag-tag renegade musicians into a funk and soul 7-piece band dubbed "The Castle Terrace Sessions." Thankfully, this project is going well with Multiple jazz bar gigs under our belt and more to come! Through this project spawned two others, "Little Wold Co.," an original jazz fusion quartet that holds a residency at the jazz bar, and that is on the move to play festivals in the summer of 2026. And Neon Moss, a jazz fusion cover group that also holds a residency at the jazz bar in Edinburgh

Through these projects and my connection to the Edinburgh and Glasgow music scene ive been able to play with multiple bands on a session basis as a bass player. including the likes of LUNA J, Sparkle band, Alice Armstrong, Harry Higs, the pocket Five, Abby Bell and the High Ryes, Scotch And Rhye, and Aki Remally. I plan to continue down a path of session work.
