About Deb Chalmers
Deb is a violinist and violist specialising in English folk music. She trained in viola and Baroque viola at Birmingham Conservatoire, before returning to her first love of traditional music, song and dance.
Having joined her first ceilidh band at the age of 13, Deb has a passion for playing for dancing. She has played for a number of years with Folk Dance Remixed, a dance company combining traditional dance with hip hop and street dance styles, and performing at such venues as the Southbank, for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and Latitude Festival.
Deb is currently working on a number of new performing and teaching projects She continues to play for a variety of projects and bands, including for Laurel Swift's Travelling with Thomas musical and with Licence to Ceilidh & Ceilidh Tree function bands, performing at a variety of venues across the UK and Europe.
