About Charlie Brown
Since studying classical music and singing at the Saturday school of RNCM I have more focused on electronic music production and DJing. I have gained a varied and exciting musical journey, which has included lots of community music, playing keyboard and singing in an electro house outfit and DJing across the North West of England and internationally.
More recently I have returned to my love of singing and I currently run 3 regular singing groups. One for people with lung health conditions, one for young people with social anxieties and a 4 piece pop/dance mash up/harmony group.
I self produce and release music under the name Shelectro. Many of my recent singles have been featured on the local BBC introducing shows. I use this project to try and highlight the inequalities that I have experienced in the music industry and society in general.
I also compose and produce music for theatre and community projects and productions, and produce backing tracks for singers.
I am also part of the Youth Music Freelance Advisor team, where I review and share recommendations in relation to funding applications.
