About Anmol Mohara

My name is Anmol Mohara and I am a Drummer, Tabla Player & Composer originally from Nepal but based in London. My musical journey began at Nepal Music Center, where I received a residential scholarship from 2009 to 2015, honing my skills in drums, tabla, and traditional Nepali folk percussion instruments. In 2016, I was offered a full scholarship to participate in a junior jazz course at the Royal Academy Of Music for two years. I have won two national awards such as the 'UK Young Drummer Of The Year' in 2017 and 'Yamaha Future Beat' the following year. Winning these awards gave me the opportunity to perform at the UK Drum Show in 2017 and the London Drum Show in 2018 which are two of the biggest drum festivals in the UK.

In 2019, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the amazing Antoine Fafard who is a bass player/composer in one of his projects called 'Random Symbiotic Influx' where I recorded drums and percussion on three of his original tunes.

I have played with a variety of artists/bands. To name a few: Nicolas Meier, Gareth Lockrane, Antoine Fafard, Phil Meadows, Time Zone, Nepalese Folk Symphony Orchestra, Lila Ammons, Ben Waters, Beaux, Leoni Jane Kennedy, Maria Graspa, Amalie Bryde, Sajjan Raj Vaidya. I have performed at various well established venues such as: Eventim Apollo, Ronnie Scott’s, The Cockpit (Jazz in the round), Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Cadogan Hall, Omeara, 91 living room, Jazz Cafe Posk and many more.

I have recorded drums and percussion for award winning Nepali artists such as Bartika Eam Rai - “Deshnikala” & “Kaalpanik”, Diwas Gurung - “Biswas” , Adrian Pradhan - “Kasam” and Samik Sapkota - “Sadhai”.

I graduated from the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in 2023 with a first class on jazz drums. I was awarded a Concert Recital Diploma for high distinction in my final recital. I was invited back to Guildhall on their prestigious Junior Fellowship Programme the following year after my graduation.
