About Alexander Kyd
I was born and raised in Sofia, and my main instrument is the classical guitar, although I also play the acoustic and electric guitar. My music is influenced by a range of genres, including classical music, Bulgarian traditional music, art rock, post punk, and ambient. My compositions are often described as contemplative, chilled, philosophical, and mysterious.
In addition to composing original music, I have also released interpretations of popular songs such as Sinnerman and Diamonds and Rust. I am a big defender of busking as a cultural practice, and I continue to busk prolifically. One of the most fulfilling experiences in my music career was teaching music in a London prison.
Since moving to London in 2017, I have released one studio album and several singles, and I have taken an active part in the Busk in London scheme. I am always seeking new opportunities to collaborate with other artists and to explore new avenues of musical expression. I am particularly interested in writing music for film, theatre, and video games, and I am constantly honing my craft in this area.
Whether I'm playing on a street corner, in a church or in a concert hall, my goal is to create music that evokes emotion and inspires reflection. I believe that music has the power to connect people, and I am always striving to create work that resonates with listeners on a deep level.
