The Government has now published its Trade Union Bill, which includes plans to criminalise picketing, permit employers to hire strike-breaking agency staff and a requirement that at least 40% of those asked to vote support the strike in most key public services.

The MU agrees with the TUC that the Bill is wholly unfair and unnecessary, and that it is an ideological attack on unions by the Conservative Government.

See Frances O Grady’s blog for further reaction.

The latest TUC response can be found at www.tuc.org.uk.
