UK Music — the collective voice of the UK music industry, of which the MU is a member — is once again running its important annual Music Creators’ Survey to help highlight the value of the music industry to the UK economy.

The survey asks about your 2025 earnings and is open to all artists, musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, singers, producers and engineers. The deadline to complete the survey is end of May 2026.

It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. By taking part, you’ll also have the chance to win one of five £100 Amazon vouchers.

How your answers help us campaign for a fairer industry

Your responses will be used to calculate:

  • How much music contributes to the UK economy
  • How many jobs the music industry supports
  • Breakdowns across sectors such as live performance, musical composition and recorded music
  • The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on your income.

By completing the survey, you are enabling UK Music and its member organisations to more effectively represent your interests to government.

For example, the MU uses insights from this research to support campaigns on AI regulation, music streaming reform, easing EU touring, and increased arts funding.

The data gathered also informs UK Music’s annual economic report, This Is Music. You can read last year’s report here

Responses will be analysed by UK Music and shared with its member organisations only after any direct identifiers have been removed. This means your data will be pseudonymised and, where possible, anonymised. For more information about the prize draw terms and how UK Music will use your data, please visit the first page of the survey.
