The radio station Jazz FM will be playing jazz, soul and blues music by British musicians and those who call the UK their home from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm on Easter Monday (13 April).

Throughout the day, Jazz FM will be promoting and fundraising for the MU Coronavirus Hardship Fund, donations made will go to MU members who are facing genuine financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and its impact.

MU General Secretary Horace Trubridge thanked the radio station for their help:

“We are hugely grateful that Jazz FM are encouraging donations to the MU Coronavirus Hardship Fund as part of their UK Music Day.

“We’ve never experienced a crisis like this. The majority of our members are unable to work and many face months with no income at all. Our Fund was set up to support musicians in financial hardship and we want to provide grants to as many as we can.

“We have paid out over £500k in just a few weeks and anticipate many more applications as music venues, theatres, concert halls and schools remain closed. Thank you Jazz FM for your support and we look forward to tuning in to your UK Music Day programming.”
