MU Committee Nominations: Make the MU - your MU
These committee nominations are for a two-year term of office commencing January 2021

We encourage any member who is eligible for nomination, and who would like to become involved with the democratic process that is at the heart of the Union, to seek nomination for either their Regional Committee, the Executive Committee or both.

The next set of nominations will be for a two-year term of office commencing January 2021.

If you do not wish to stand yourself, you could alternatively get involved by nominating another member (with their consent).

Submitting your nomination(s)

The deadline for successful submission of online nominations is midday on Friday 11 September 2020

Any member wishing to stand for the Regional Committee or the Executive Committee will require another paid-up member to second their nomination.

When logging your nomination for either Committee online, you will require both your own MU membership number and the membership number of your nominator. Once nominations have closed on 11 September 2020 your Regional Organiser will contact all candidates who have successfully completed the nomination process.

Arrangements for the nominations during the Covid-19 outbreak

In the digital summer edition of The Musician magazine it was confirmed that the nomination process for the Union’s Executive Committee and the six Regional Committees for 2021 will take place online.

Like many organisations, the Union has temporarily moved to home-working during the Covid-19 crisis. This has necessitated an urgent review of our communications with members, which are now largely going out digitally.

At its most recent meeting, in July, the Executive Committee decided to move away from paper-based Committee nominations and this year our Annual General Meetings will also take place online due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Should you have any queries as to the nomination process, please contact your MU Regional Office.
