Lawrence Ngan

About Lawrence Ngan

Lawrence was raised in Hong Kong and started his piano learning since age of
five, received years of musical training from Prof. Stephen Wong, Dr. Allison So,
Dr. Pei Yu Shu and Ms. Sohan Yau. He attained LRSM and LTCL with distinctive
result. Ngan also studied in School of Continuing and Professional Studies from
Chinese University of Hong Kong, acquired Professional diploma in
Performance practice with distinction. He achieved awards in Asia-Hong Kong
Piano Open Competition. As an active musician, Ngan performed in diverse
events as solo or collaborative pianist, such as performances with his friends in
HKAPA. He also participated numerous of masterclasses in Hong Kong and
foreign. In 2014, he joined the Chopin-Górecki Music Festival from Chopin
University of music and was honored to receive 1-to-1 mentorship from Prof.
Anna Jastrzębska-Quinn.
Ngan becomes a professional piano teacher and accompanist since 2011. He
started a studio, educated fruitful of students, some become music teacher as
well. His enthusiasm to music is also shown in various aspects. He is a music
director of Holy Cross Catholic Church, conducts choirs and gives
apprenticeship to juniors. In leisure time, he loves to study and write music as
well, some works of his own was performed, such as "Ave Maria", "Credo".
Ngan is also an amateur Trombone player, has joined wind band "Nebula"
and participated in their performances. He moves to London in Oct 2023, and
will continue to strive for excellence in his music path.
