The Globe

About us

The Globe is a community owned, multi-genre grassroots music venue, situated at the western edge of Newcastle city centre.

We host a diverse programme of live music, club and dance events, and the venue is also available for private hire and rehearsals. A core part of our work is the Learning and Participation Programme, which offers workshops and classes led by expert tutors in jazz and folk, alongside regular jam sessions.

Accessibility

The Globe is fully accessible to wheelchair users on both floors. There is a lift and an accessible toilet. Guide dogs are welcome.

We are also open to receiving and implementing green riders.

Getting home

We’re very close to Newcastle Arena, it’s about a 10 minute walk from Central Station. Buses no 22 and 32 stop by Newcastle Motorcycles (Honda) on Scotswood Road, a very short walk to the Globe.

There’s often on-street free parking on Railway Street, if not, there two commercial car parks nearby – the small Arena Car Park opposite (enter via Ord Street), and the Times Square multi-storey on the right of Railway Street going east.
