Sub Club Under Threat

The Sub Club has a global reputation and has been a stalwart of Glasgow’s electronic music scene for the past 25 years.

The club has been under threat from a planning application from JD Wetherspoon to build a hotel and beer garden next adjacent to the club, raising concerns that the legendary club could come under fire from noise complaint issues should the development go ahead.

This will be one of the first instances where the newly legislated ‘Agent of Change’ principal should come into play in Scotland.

The MU has written to formally oppose the application.

MU Addresses MPs on Music Education

The MU addressed MPs on music education, warning that stagnant funding, university course closures and worsening conditions for teachers are putting the future of music education at risk. The General Secretary also followed up on her meeting with Chancellor Rachel Reeves.
