About the event

The MU is delighted to announce a new series of online events this Autumn for our Orchestra Section members. There will be four different interactive workshops covering health, wellbeing, presentation skills and workshop design, providing a perfect opportunity to network with colleagues and meet some of our expert trainers.

This is the third event in the series, where you will look at designing workshops for different communities and settings, and adapting your skills and expertise.

Working in community settings requires very varied skills and expertise. This session looks at how you might approach working in various different settings including educational and care settings.

The webinar will work through the following structure:

  • Understanding your participants
  • What questions to ask before you start planning
  • What are your aims
  • How should you plan
  • Who is your team and how to work together
  • Will you be using tech – if so what and how
  • What warm up games might you use
  • Will you theme your workshop
  • What musical ideas might you explore
  • What is your end result
  • How do you evaluate how well you have done?
