About the event

Applications to the first phase of the UK Artists Touring Fund (UKAT) open on March 11 (closing on March 20) and we're hosting an online information session for members who are interested in learning more about the fund, ahead of potentially applying.

UKAT has been developed by the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC), in partnership with the Music Managers Forum (MMF) and the MU, and is backed by the LIVE Trust. The fund will redirect donations from arena shows to grassroots and mid-tier artists who are experiencing financial losses on tours due to the cost-of-touring crisis.

It is recommended that anyone attending the session reads the fund's application guide in advance.

The event will be led by David Martin, CEO of the FAC and Kelly Wood, MU National Organiser for Live, Theatre and Music Writers. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Important notes and criteria for applying

The criteria for UKAT Phase One include the following:

  • UKAT is a topup fund, and is not intended to fully fund touring activity;
  • Artists can apply for up to £7,000 or a maximum of 40% of total tour expenditure, whichever is lower;
  • You are a releasing artist (solo or group) with a demonstrable track record of creating and releasing original music;
  • You have released original music under your artist name in the last three years;
  • You have a scheduled UK headline tour, with a minimum of three shows;
  • At least 75% of dates are promoter booked with guarantees, and no more than 25% are self-promoted or dryhire shows;
  • The touring activity ends by October 31 2026.
