Available to MU Scotland members, this free, in-person, 30-minute legal one-to-one is designed to offer clear, accessible advice on ad-hoc legal issues related to your music career.

About the event

Whether it's a contract you're unsure about, questions around copyright, or simply understanding your legal position – come and chat with music industry solicitor Jamie Watt from Harper Macleod Solicitors, and your MU Regional Officer, Louise Stanners Pow.

These clinics are free to attend and open to all MU members based in Scotland, but appointments are essential. To book your 30-minute slot, please email sni@themu.org.

Please note: We won't be able to take on complex or ongoing legal matters during these clinics due to the nature of the session, however we’d encourage you to have your documents ready and bring your questions. Members may be directed to the MU Legal Advice and Assistance Service for more complex cases.

About Jamie

Jamie leads Harper Macleod's intellectual property & technology (IP&T) department, and their life sciences sector group. His expertise includes trademarks and brand management, patent law, music, entertainment and publishing. 

Jamie is a registered expert in Intellectual Property with the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme, and previously under Framework Programmes FP5 to FP7. He has also worked in the record label and artist management industries.
